Is Uni life a hassle?

 --> My Life at Sir MVIT - A First-Year Student's Take

Hey everyone! We are just average 18-year-old first-year engineering students at Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT) in Bengaluru, grinding through Robotics & AI. Honestly, picking this college was one of the best decisions we ever made. It's this huge 133-acre green campus in Yelahanka near the airport – perfect for our daily 25-30 km commute from our homes. Classes from 9am to 4pm, then gym at 6:40pm... life here's busy but super balanced!

-->Quick Bit About the College

Sir MVIT started back in 1986, run by some educational trust, and it's tied to VTU. They've got all the big accreditations NAAC, NBA, AICTE so you know the education's solid. We have like 13 BE branches: CS, ECE, Mech, Civil, and yeah, our fave Robotics & AI. Plus MTech, MBA, MCA for postgrads. Over 3000 students buzzing around with profs who actually know their stuff. Labs are no joke got us hooked on Arduino and Python already!

--> Why Robotics & AI Rocks Here

Man, this branch is future-proof. We're learning automation, AI algos, machine learning, control systems, robot programming... hands-on with real sensors and bots in the labs. Mornings in class, afternoons tinkering on projects. It ties right into what we wanna do freelance coding, robotics gigs . Preps you for the AI boom perfectly.

-->Campus Vibes & Facilities

Campus is massive academic blocks, library, seminar halls, sports grounds everywhere. Hostels are decent too: separate for boys/girls, mess food (hit or miss lol), gym, games room, security on point. Sports? Cricket, football, basketball, badminton courts, helps us stick to our routine without skipping. Greenery everywhere, feels chill after Bengaluru traffic.

-->Clubs & All the Fun Stuff

Academics aside, the real magic's in the clubs. Technical societies, cultural groups, NSS, robotics hobby clubs, theatre... we got 20+ options. Fests, workshops, tech comps, cultural events, intra and inter-college. Boosted my confidence big time, better at talking in groups now. Student committees handle counseling, sports meets, feels like a proper community.

Wrapping up, Sir MVIT's shaping us up- tech skills, fitness, even social life, while we binge movies and web series at night. Peace !

What’s your college like?
